CASE Small Gas Engines (SGE)
Will be offered in Fairbanks in 2026, Date TBA

SGE is a specialization-level module in the Mechanical Systems in Agriculture series. The module provides technical applications to mechanical systems, using small gas engines as the instructional tool. Students practice technical skills, including measurements, troubleshooting, documenting an engine teardown and assembly, completing work/repair orders, and reading a service manual.

Principles of Agricultural Science—Plant (ASP)
July 26 - Aug 1, 2025, Fairbanks
The ASP course provides a foundation of plant science knowledge and skills. Students will experience various plant science concepts through exciting hands-on activities, projects, and problems.
Student experiences will include the study of plant anatomy and physiology, classification, and the fundamentals of production and harvesting. Students will learn how to apply scientific knowledge and skills to use plants effectively for agronomic, forestry, and horticultural industries.

July 21 - 25, 2025, Fairbanks
NRE is a foundation-level course within the CASE program of study. The course provides students with a variety of experiences in the fields of natural resources and ecology.
Students explore hands-on projects and activities while studying topics such as land use, water quality, stewardship, and environmental agencies. The study of the natural world including biomes, land, air, water, energy, use and care as well as a focus on issues surrounding man's interaction with the Earth is addressed in this course. Students select an ecosystem to study throughout the course and apply principles of natural resources and ecology from each unit of study to that ecosystem.
